We are currently seeing a huge amount of ExchangePerflog*.dat files in the Temp folder of our service account.
"C:\Users\<service_account>\AppData\Local\Temp"
I have read a few articles online which suggest that this is related to Outlook 2003, but currently we are using Outlook 2007 SP3 on our EV server. I have checked if there are any performance counters running on the server, but could not find any active.
Please suggest what can be done for this?

Someone could help me to understand why my Vault Store Partition volume recovered about 1TB of space from the night to the day? Yesterday had 200GB of free space and today has 1,2TB.
Scenario:
- File System Archiving
- Collections are enabled with 1 day configured.
- Have 6 Partitions on the same volume.
- Storage Expiry is not configured. (Set Never)
- Retention Categories set with 15 years with prevention of user's deletion
- Environment has about 5 month of archived items

I'm running EV 9.0.4 and trying to migrate a PST file. The "copy" stage failed b/c the user had the file open in Outlook. I know how to handle this most times, but this time the state of the file in VAC is "Copying". I've stopped and restarted the PST Migrator task. I've even stopped and restarted all the EV services on my EV server. The only thing left to try is bouncing the server.
I know the task completed b/c the log file shows that it could not be copied. The properties on the file show the same thing. It's been hours and the state of the file is the same. It won't let me delete the file from the VAC file list either b/c it thinks the task has to finish.
There's nothing in my "Holding" share location either.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I've tried to use http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH161371 to no availability. The 'severe' is still there, even after a reboot of the EV-server.
does anyone know where this event is stored, and how I can remove it?

Hard to explain, but here goes.
In Outlook 2013, with the EV10.0.4 client (and the EV11.0.1 client) the following is tested:
User does not use the preview-pane, so only has a list of mails. User doubleclicks a normal email so it opens as message. At the top of the email, there are the icons: enveloppe, save, return, up- and down-arrow. When clicking on down arrow, the previous message in the list is opened.
When you hit an archived item, the first item you hit is opened, but the arrows now are greyed out. The enveloppe icon changes to the 'restore icon'.
Is this "works as designed"? I imagine it does, because you try to retrieve an item from the archive, but I could not find anythin g in the documentation on this.

Can the EVSPShortcutManager recall more than one SP site collection at a time? If so, are there any recommendations for recalling many sites at one time? I'm guessing it depends on several variables, including the amount of data to be recalled for each site. But supposing I have a large amount of sites that contain very little data, I was wondering if I can recall many sites at one time.

First time that I am asked to install ev and set as https and not http.
From what I read, it looks quite easy, however, I'm facing the following issue:
EV server in installed in the NET domain (server FQDN is ARCHIVE.DOMAIN.NET
the customer supplied with a signed generic certificate, but in the details of the certificate the domain there is DOMAIN.CO.IL
this is the only certificate he has, and they are not able to create a ARCHIVE.DOMAIN.NET certificate as they do not have the ability to sign it.
He wants to use the DOMAIN.CO.IL, but I don't see a way of using a certificate with CO.IL and not a NET one, as the EV will not work like that.
Am I missing something? He claims that all his servers are under DOMAIN.NET and they work fine with the DOMAIN.CO.IL certificate and he is certain that there can be a workaround for this issue.
Please advice.

We are currently using EV10.0.4 to archive Exchange 2010SP3 mailbox.
We are planning to migrate our mailbox to Office 365 where user still access their mailbox via Outlook 2010.
Is it possible for EV11.0.1 to archive the user's new Office 365 mailbox?? Is it possible to archive it back to the same Exchange mailbox archive in EV?
Where are the setup guide to archive Office365 mailbox with EV??

I am doing an upgrade at a customer site from EV 10 to EV 11. My customer has some legacy endpoints with Windows XP SP 2/3 + Outlook 2003 SP2/3.
As per the the compatibility charts, EV 11 Outlook Add-ins are not supported on Windows XP SP 2/3 + Outlook 2003 SP2/3.
Will Windows XP SP 2/3 + Outlook 2003 SP2/3 AND EV 10 Outlook Add-ins be able to access EV 11?

i need to get all permissions on a particular set of archives (1000 archives). I am aware of permisison browser tool but was wondering if someone knows of a quicker way to get this data. Is there a table in SQL that details the permissions on archives?

I have 1 exchange DB, archive set to "whole exchange organization", and customer is wondering if he creates a Journal mailbox will it be archived as well as part of the regular MBX archiving.
I didn't reaserch on the subject. but my guess is that exchange flags a Journal mbx and so EV knows to not archive it through regular archiving.
Am I right about my guess?

The key here is PROPERTY NAME="0x007D" - although OutlookSpy shows a tag number of 0x007D001E for property PR_TRANSPORT_MESSAGE_HEADERS_A, only 0x007D worked.
If you look at P299 of http://www.symantec.com/business/support/library/BUSINESS/DOC6282/10.0.4%20-%20Setting_up_Exchange_Server_Archiving.pdf it says:
If the property is a standard MAPI property, the hexadecimal MAPI property
tag. You can specify just the Identifier part of the 32-bit hexadecimal MAPI
property tag (bits 16 to 31), or the Identifier part (bits 16 to 31) plus the
Property type part (bits 0 to 15). For example, if the MAPI Property tag for a
standard property is 0x0070001E, the Enterprise Vault NAME value could be
specified as either 0x0070001E or 0x0070.
0x007D worked for me, 0x007D001E did not.

I have a problem regarding EV11 Sizing Estimator Tools that after I scanned and generated an XML file for my file server, I found that there is no way to import the XML file onto the Sizing Estimator Tools FSA sheets. Is there no such feature for FSA but only for Exchange/PST/Journaling?
Since the excel workbook is quite complicate and I believe the result is quite inaccurate with manual input the data.

One of my users faced an issue recently related to his archived data. When I tried exporting his archive to PST from enterprise vault server, it showed me an item count of 147 for one particular folder, however when I browse to that folder in user's outlook client, I can see that folder has 344 items with IPM.Note.EnterpriseVault.Shortcut message class. I have cross verified those shortcuts are not duplicate and/or orphaned. I suspected the issue to be with index mismatch with actual archived data and went on to rebuild the index for this user and now it correctly shows 344 items when I try exporting the user's archive to PST. I want to know how can I find out this discrepancy for all the users. Is there any SQL based query that I can use?

I've deployed the EV Outlook Mail App to my user, however if I try to retrieve an archived mail using the EV App I get
App Error. Something went wrong and we couldn't start this app. Please try again later or contact your system administrator.
Then I get
This app may not load properly, but you can still try to start it.
And eventually I get.
Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate.
As far as I'm concerned we have the correct security certificate on the server. But it appears that the server alias name I have, doesn't tie in with the wildcard certificate that we have internally for our domain.
How do I change the server name that EV uses when a user tries to connect to the Exchange 2013web app from his client desktop?
I've used Browser Search to create a basket of e-mails (from multiple users) that I need to restore to a PST file but everytime I try to do that, I get an error saying "Cannot Log on. Incorrect server or mailbox." I'm pretty sure I'm putting in the correct details and the EV service account has full access to the journal mailboxes and the user mailboxes. None of these are hidden from the GAL either.
EV version is 9.0.2.1061 - hopefully someone can help me out!
