We are using Enterprise Vault for 10.0.4 for Exchange. As I am aware EV does not support Vault cache functionality on MAC machines. We will have to rely on search.asp. Does EV – 11 provides any functionality of Vault cache for MAC users? Or any road map from Symantec on this?

when i got into the web search page (image attacched) and i try to list all the mailbox i only got a list of part of them.
i've tried to rebuild the indexes without result
any ideas ?

I've been following the upgrade guide to upgrade EV from 9 to 10 and under the FSA upgrade it wants me to run the EV console on the Clustered File Server.
However the EV 9 console on the Win 2003 File server will no longer communicate with the EV 10 Site. In addition I am unable to install EV 10 console because it complains about the O/S version. I'm assuming it requires Win 2008 64bit . So I'm stuck in a vicious circle.
My question is what do I need to do to remove the FSA agent version 9 and install the version 10 on a clustered Win 2003 file server?
Also when I try to run the FSA Cluster Configuration wizard on the EV 10 Admin Console on my actual EV server it gives me an error
"Failed to collect clustering data from file server"

I've upgraded our EV 9 server to EV 10 by doing a new server build and using the Server Migration wizard.
Mostly it is working, I can retrieve archived mail and files, however there are one or two issues that have come to my attention.
For instance now when I go to the File Servers under the Targets option I keep getting the following error message
Enterprise Vault cannot access the FSA Reporting Web Service at '<http://<servername>.<diomain>/FSAReporting/FSAReporting.asmx.
Enterprise Vault may not display the correct FSA Reporting settings, and may not save FSA Reporting settings.
Is there an additional post upgrade config step that I've missed?
If I enter the url directly into Internet Explorer I get "The resource cannot be found." And in IIS Manager there is nothing referring to FSA.

I have yet to see this issue in the forum so here goes.
I am running EV11 (Version: 11.0.0.1351) on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit and Outlook 2007 SP3 is installed.
EV11 is configured to only archive the messages and not remove them from the exchange server.
My Exchange server is Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit running Exchange 2013 CU6.
Ok, now my issue.
A few users have complained that they have a few blank emails in their inbox.
After exhaustive testing I believe I have narrowed it down to just a certain type of plain text email is getting trashed by EV.
It would seem that if the email header contains
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1";
reply-type=original
EV will archive the message properly but it converts the email on the server to a blank HTML email with no content.
There is no content with OWA either.
Users need to restore from the vault to get the message content back.
I am regularly able to reproduce this problem by sending a plain text email with the Windows Live Mail email client through an outside SMTP server to an Exchange user.
When the message arrives it looks fine. Once it gets archived it is no longer a plain text email but rather a blank HTML message.
Any ideas?

We just realize that there is a discrepancy between two reports: "Vault Store Usage Summary" and "Vault Store Usage by Archive". We have one site and four servers. The number of Active Archives reported by "Vault Store Usage Summary" is more than that reported by "Vault Store Usage by Archive". It looks like those archives missing from the "Vault Store Usage by Archive" report have no archived item and the users have been deleted from Active Directory. So we thought empty archives are not reported. However, we found some empty archives on the same report. We don't understand why the two reports don't match. Do they not query on the same information? Summary just reports the total of the usage by archive? Any idea why the numbers don't add up? We are at version 9.0.3.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

We have many users getting this message when they drag-and-drop a message which is NOT archived to another folder in Outlook 2010: "You cannot copy an Enterprise Vault shortcut". Note that they are NOT trying to copy an archived item, but move an email message they have just received.

Is there a way to test that my query really works and returns the values I want to get ?

I would like to index one of our Vault stores as we have been having issues with our backups, and would like to know if there is a quick way of doing this.
I have tried running the Exchange Mailbox task, selecting all mailbox's, but doesnt seem to do anything? Am i missing something really simple.

We have one client who has 48 exchange DBs divided to Exchange 2013 DAG having 12 nodes. Each ExchDB has active and passive version so that if some problem occurrs the other node takes over the DB.
I have 2 EV server cluster to cover these 12 tasks, 6 each.
The behaviour that I'm seeing is that the automatic archiving is slow or nonexistent apparently due to the fact that when the A5 queue is loaded with the mboxes of that time it handles a portion. Then the scheluded time is over and task stops it work. If the DB now moves to another ExchNode the unhandled archive requests stays in A5 queue and when the next scheduled run starts it halts to wonder these queued requests that are no longer on that node that it's supposed to handle and the automatic archiving / mailbox synchronizing is extremely slow or nonexistent and the MSMQs just never seems to get done... Is there a solution for this behavior?

If I import an old pst file into an Exchange 2010 mailbox, which is going to be archived by EV10, will it use the date the email was originally received, or the date from import?
secondly, if I have a policy that deletes emails over 24 months old, will these be deleted immediately or will EV use the date from import?
